Songs of Solomon and CheraLee give "Come to your senses" plenty of muscle, but the duet’s harmonies are its biggest draw. Exposed voices and a dry percussive snap contrast sharply with the distorted electric guitars and punchy drums. Those shifts give the singing room to register, even with the band going full tilt.

Released on October 30, 2026, the single pairs Southampton-based singer-songwriter Solomon Machanick, who records as Songs of Solomon, with South African singer-songwriter CheraLee. She brings six Afri-Indie awards, three South African Country Music Association Foundation awards and a 2024 International Songwriting Competition semi-final placing to the partnership. Her high harmonies make a strong impression alongside Machanick’s increasingly forceful delivery.

Producer André Hurter at Montana Studios keeps the pop-rock arrangement driving hard. The guitars have a satisfying abrasive edge, while the clear vocal melody makes the song immediately approachable. I especially like the slight grit in the more forceful singing; it gives this polished recording a welcome bite. The song’s stated premise is equally direct.

The song catches that pivotal moment when both people have a chance to stop pretending, admit what they feel, and step across the line back to each other.

The quieter passages lend that plea some intimacy, and the massed harmonies make it sound urgent. Both voices remain central to the appeal, giving the big, emphatic production a convincing human focus.

Machanick and CheraLee have a fine instinct for making a forceful pop-rock duet sound like a conversation worth hearing.
