The voice moves from close, almost conversational phrasing in the verses into full-throated belting by the chorus, and those soaring ad-libs at the upper range carry a raw crack in the delivery. Perfection.
What floors me is how the arrangement breathes. The strings and acoustic rhythm never crowd each other… the mix stays open, every note landing with room around it. This is a 26-years-in-the-making composition and you can feel that patience baked into every bar.
