Sheldon Mashugana "Monster Mash" (Cover Single)
Dean Morgan commits. Fully, unapologetically, with zero interest in playing it cool. His comedic alter ego Sheldon Mashugana exists for one reason... to make people laugh. This cover of Bobby Pickett's 1962 Halloween classic is exactly the kind of project that persona was built for.
Recorded at Justin Pierce Music studio in Dallas over a karaoke backing track. No live instruments. What sits on top is a mid-tempo rock and roll shuffle with theatrical character energy... spoken-word vocal delivery shifting into full performance mode, high-pitched backing vocals, and horror movie sound effects bookending the track before it even finds its footing.
The smartest move? Dropping "Mashugana" into the chorus. Shouldn't work. Yes it absolutely does.
Morgan has said pacing was the initial hurdle, but once the vocal approach clicked, the whole thing came together fast. Eighteen YouTube films deep, Santa Fe TV appearances booked for October and November... the Sheldon Mashugana project keeps moving. We think you will make it part of your Halloween top 10 playlist placements.
