Romattic's "Candy Smoking" doesn't ease you in. The guitar is distorted and mean, the drums lock in tight, and the whole thing is already at full throttle before you've had a second to breathe.

What hooked me most is the way the vocals move through the track. There's a restrained, melodic pull in the verses, voice sitting close and controlled, and then the chorus just tears it open. Straining, shouting at the top of its range, cracking under a pressure that sounds less like performance and more like something that couldn't stay contained. No staging. Just release.

Fuck around and find out

That attitude is all over "Candy Smoking." One-sided romance, social anxiety, the sting of being written off as hopeless... the themes feel lived in, not performed. And the guitar solo in the back half is chaotic and pitch-bending, almost unhinged, and it fits. Completely at home inside the wreckage the song builds around it.

For a project founded in 2025, this is a confident first statement. I'm already curious where Romattic goes next.
