A New Independent Era

London alt-rock band Palace recently released their new single 'Ohio' on August 11. The track marks a fresh chapter for the group as they enter an era of independence, writing music strictly on their own terms. Released via Palace Presents and AWAL, the single serves as a preview of their upcoming fifth studio album.

The new record, titled Ox, is scheduled to arrive on September 18. Recorded in Deptford with longtime producer Adam Jaffrey, the project will be available on CD and across four vinyl variants. The upcoming album explores an open-hearted, instinctual response to the changing lives of the band members. It focuses on human revelations, exploring concepts of gratitude, endless possibilities, and watching a child encounter music. 'Ohio' specifically captures the breezy feeling of a late summer drive and draws inspiration from memories of life on tour with friends.

It's without doubt one of our favorite Palace songs ever. The seed for the track came from when we last toured in the States, specifically after our show at Newport Music Hall in Columbus. Our Ohio-native friends David and Philly Reed took us to their favorite bar. We had a good ol fashioned knees up with the gang - our crew, band and friends. It stayed in the memory and eventually inspired the idea for the tune.

From The George Tavern to Somerset House

Palace began their journey in 2016 as a monthly takeover known as Palace Presents at The George Tavern in London. Since those early days, the group has evolved into a worldwide community. The band recently played a sold-out homecoming show at London's iconic Somerset House. This momentum follows the release of their Greyhound EP last year, along with previous tracks including 'Kid', 'Dream On', and the six-minute track 'Brown Bread'.

Taking Ox on the Road

To support the release of Ox, Palace will embark on a 29-date headline tour across the United States and Canada this fall. The run begins in early October and will feature support from Rollo Doherty and Willie J Healey on select dates.
