A Cinematic Return
Modern Cult, the synth-pop project comprised of Augie Pink and Rod Wendt, recently released their new single "Connection." Arriving on September 18 via Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock, the track serves as an urgent wake-up call wrapped in an '80s coming-of-age energy. The single was produced by Cage The Elephant's Brad Shultz, adding a cinematic rush to the duo's expanding catalog. A companion music video was also released for the single, featuring a playful shopping-cart ride.
Forging A Synth-Pop World
The project has roots stretching back to the COVID lockdowns, when the foundations of Modern Cult were first established. The two musicians are long-time collaborators, having previously played together in the garage rock band Plastic Pinks. "Connection" follows a string of previous releases from the duo, joining their growing discography alongside earlier singles "Tell Me," "Work It Out," and "Be My Friend."
Connection is about waking up to the life that's already happening around you and holding onto the people and moments that make you feel alive.
— Augie Pink
