Her lead vocal keeps pulling me back, an urgency in her delivery that feels worn-in rather than performed, and the slight strain creeping into her higher phrases makes the hesitation in the lyrics feel like something she's actually lived through.
The press release quotes the hook directly: "catch that train / stomp in the rain / dream your dream / scream your scream / 'cause one day soon / it's gonna be too late." Composed with JT Martin, who recorded the chorus, the whole thing sits right on that nerve between wanting something and waiting too long.
