Elke Schon has been sitting on "September" since 2022. Four years. And it shows... not in a bad way, but more in the way when someone has lived with it long enough to know exactly what it needs.

The verses are sparse on purpose. Clean acoustic guitar picking, a barely-there low-register rhythmic pulse underneath, and Elke's voice sitting close and breathy in the mid-register. No rush. No filler.

Then the chorus comes in and everything changes. Powerful and emotion filled drums, a low-frequency bass foundation, string-like harmonic layers, multi-voice harmonies... all of it arriving together in one sharp dynamic jump. Elke's vocal shifts with it, moving from that intimate verse delivery into a projected, high-register performance that genuinely earns the word soaring. This fully arrests the listeners senses, making it an unforgettable listen.

The bridge pushes an ascending vocal pattern over the rhythm section before the final chorus lands at full intensity. After that, the outro slowly dismantles everything until it's just ambient reverb and a fading vocal.

Producer Aaron Shanahan pulls out a Radiohead-adjacent atmospheric quality without letting it smother the song's emotional core. That's the right call.
