"Never Forever" wastes no time tearing the room wide open. The track opens with aggressive, distorted guitars and chugging rhythm parts that set an upbeat, driving post-hardcore tempo. It is a massive wall of alternative metal sound, but D.D.R. balances the heavy instrumentation with accessible, hook-driven melodies that pull you in without warning.

The high-register vocals push a soaring, slightly strained delivery during the peak moments, breaking into a raspy texture that guts me. Then the bridge hits. The entire massive arrangement drops away into nothing. It isolates a quiet, intimate whisper, forcing a sudden stillness right before the song explodes into the final chorus. You can feel the tension building in your chest.

This single opens the first era of the seven-song Blinded By the Blonde EP . A prominent, melodic lead guitar solo cuts right through the center of the mix, anchoring the track while diving into themes of love and starting over. I played it three times in a row and it still wasn't enough. The distortion fades out and leaves a ringing in your ears in the best way possible.
