"Hands up Human" by Cornucopia of Sound is a full-on blast of retro-futuristic electro-hop, and I could not stop replaying it.

The synth bassline bounces and stretches in this elastic, almost rubbery way that pulls me in and refuses to let go. Layer in machine-like looping riffs cut against stuttering breakbeat drums that eventually shift into heavier 808 territory, and the production keeps you off balance the whole time. You can actually hear the OP1 and MPC doing serious work. There is a lot going on... and somehow it holds together.

Pure sci-fi energy.

The vocal delivery sits in a crisp, mid-range rap flow, and when the chorus lands with that chanted "Hands up Human... Jump," it flips into something that sounds like an intercom announcement on a space station. Commanding. Robotic. Built for a crowd. The verses carry this whole story about teleporting between planets and rescuing humans with forbidden tech, and it never once feels clunky.

This is the title track off Hands up Human, the third release from the Pennsylvania-based production duo. If the rest of the album hits like this, I am very much along for the ride.
