Caden Stone's new single "How Cold You Have Become" opens with a wall of distorted guitars and screamed vocals that flood the room before you can even process what's happening. Pure aggression. Then everything drops. The chaos clears and a clean, synth-driven groove walks in like it owns the place, and the shift is so sharp it stops you cold.

That transition is the moment. The screaming gives way to smooth, melodic clean vocals, and his voice in that section has this cool, controlled pull to it, like he's daring you to follow him somewhere you probably shouldn't go.

The synths weave this almost seductive undercurrent beneath the guitars through the melodic section. Lines like "I want to pose you / And expose you / Just to make you feel alive again" land with an off-putting charm, the kind of lyric that makes you wonder who's writing it and why… and then it just sits in your head, rent-free.

Jeremy Ferguson's production is sharp and high-contrast, letting both the heavy and the melodic sides breathe without one swallowing the other. Stone leans into those contradictions hard.

I've had this one on repeat all week.
