“Silence” opens with a bassline that pulses fast and relentlessly, explosive drums locked in underneath, and the tension is immediate. No warmup.

The verses stay coiled. Lead vocals sit in a smooth mid-register over that driving rhythm, pressure building without release. Then the chorus comes in and the whole thing detonates with heavy drum impacts, distorted layers crashing in, vocals launching into a sustained belt that earns every decibel. Producer Jamie Sellers keeps the dynamic swings brutal. The drop back into the verse is instant. No fade, no cushion. Thrilling and full of dark cinematic energy.

It pulls this move twice before the bridge shifts the rhythm and introduces harmonies, tension climbing toward the final section. That last stretch is the loudest moment in the track, high-register ad-libs riding over the main melody until everything cuts out hard. One isolated vocal phrase left in the reverb.

Becky Arundel has spoken plainly about what the song is:

This song was written from a very personal place and captures the moment I discovered that someone I loved had been repeatedly unfaithful. I felt trapped in the situation, knowing I couldn't immediately escape what was happening around me, and emotionally I wasn't ready to face everything I had just discovered

That ending lands differently once you know. You don't just hear the emotional toll. You feel it. The abrupt cut isn't a production choice for effect it's the shape of the feeling. Arundel grew up performing around East Yorkshire, studied at BIMM London, played Glastonbury and Great Escape. This is a terrific and powerful achievement for Becky Arundel.
