A Monumental Year for Angine de Poitrine
Microtonal cardboard duo Angine de Poitrine are currently embarking on their completely sold-out, first-ever United States tour. The expansive run of shows follows the acclaimed release of their second full-length album, Vol. II. The new project features the band exploring elements of acid techno, disco, and rock. One notable track from the album is "Fabienk," a song that revolves around a single microtonal guitar loop.
The sold-out tour continues a momentous 2026 for the group. Following the highly anticipated physical releases of Vol. I and Vol. II in June, the band debuted at number one on nine Billboard charts. This achievement included securing the number three position on Top Album Sales, number two on Vinyl Albums, and number two on Indie Store Album Sales. Furthermore, the albums have held the number one slot on the Indie Store Album chart for eight consecutive weeks.
Championing the Quebec Music Scene
Angine de Poitrine made their United States live concert debut last month at the Newport Jazz Festival in July 2026. Due to overwhelming popular demand, their current string of live dates features multiple shows in several cities. On this tour, the duo has chosen a specific mission to support and highlight the largely undiscovered music scene of their home province. Angine de Poitrine are bringing a rotating lineup of Quebec artists as opening acts throughout the fall dates. The featured supporting artists include psychedelic rockers Population II, electronic singer-songwriter Annie-Claude Deschênes, high-energy noise rock trio zouz, and Montreal guitarist, composer, and improviser René Lussier.
